The Body Maintenance Program (BMP) is a hands-on, oil free, direct-contact treatment which was devised in 1995 by Master Wong in London. It was specifically designed to recondition the body and relax the mind, and to aid in maintaining health and enlivening the body. Working in conjunction with the meridians and acupoints system, this systematic bodywork program provides a deep form of stimulation and elevates energy levels. Combined with the direction of movements along the meridians and appropriate pressure on the energy points, the Program helps regulate the joints and tendons thereby freeing energy stagnation. Following treatment, your body will feel lighter, energized and relaxed at the same time.
This routine is also the main part of Master Wong's Tui-Na Foundation Course.

Neck and Shoulders. Starting with the patient lying face down, work downwards from the neck to the shoulders. This is designed to relax muscles and joints, as well as tension and blockages. This helps to release pains and aches and free the energy flow to the head.

The Back. Massage the upper and lower back to stimulate the Governing Vessel, improve energy flow, remove all blockages and spasms of the back muscles, and re-adjust the alignment of the spine. Working on the back is very powerful for increasing energy and is highly enjoyable.

The Buttocks. The bodywork routine moves down to the buttocks and the back of the legs. Working on the buttocks aims to relax muscles and sciatic nerves, regulate the hip and knee joints, and remove any adhesion and tensions. This is particularly good for people who sit on a chair to they work, or do a lot of sports or exercise, as it stimulate the blood circulation, relaxes the muscles and tendons and protects the joints from wear and tear and muscles cramp.

The Feet. The purpose of working on the feet is to activate the nerve endings, stimulate the starting and ending points of the meridian channels; this can benefit the entire body by promoting blood circulation, regulating ankle joints, releasing pain, promoting relaxation, and keeping the feet in good condition. Foot massage is one of best experiences in body work.

The Head. This bodywork routine will take the body into supine position. It promotes blood and oxygen supply to the head and facilitates the function of the brain. Working on the head not only gives you a wonderful feeling, but is also a natural form of treatment used to relieve headaches, migraines, insomnia, stress and depression.

The Face. Systematic massage of the face stimulates blood supply to the facial tissues, relaxes facial muscles, releases tension in the mandible, and promotes functions of the glands. Used in beauty massage, this treatment improves the skin's texture and elasticity, and stimulates the thyroids production and circulation, thus helping to slow down the aging process.

The Chest. Working on the chest stimulates the functions of the heart and lungs, assists in removing blockages, and promotes energy and blood supply to the region. Massaging areas around the lymph glands can benefit hormone production and balance. (This is optional and by request of the client).

The Abdomen. This bodywork routine aims to stimulate the function of the digestive system; relax the organs; promote blood supply; remove blockages, trapped gas, food and waste retention; smooth bowel movements; and relieve stomach pain, cramps or period pain and cramps. Massaging the "Dian Tien" (Lower abdomen) can help promote the Chi function.

The Upper Limbs. Working on the upper limbs regulates the shoulders and elbows and relaxes the muscles and joints. Working on the hands regulates the fingers, promotes blood circulation, activates the nerve endings, stimulates the starting and ending points of the meridian channels, and relaxes the hands. This treatment can benefit people who do a lot of work with their hands, such as working on the computer for a long periods, playing sports, or playing a musical instrument. It also aims to prevent arthritis and R.S.I from building up.

The Lower Limbs. Working on the front of the lower limbs will regulate the hip and knee joints, release adhesions, relax the muscles and tendons, and promote blood supply. This is the best treatment for runners, sportsmen and dancers, and for people who don't do much exercise.
This massage routine will take from 90 minutes to two hours. The recommended treatment for the first-timer is once a week for five weeks. Afterward, treatment intervals are recommended once every two weeks to once a month. Alternatively, you can tailor the routine by choosing the area(s) you want to be worked on - treatment time ranges from 30 minutes to two hours. Frequency is at the discretion of the client.
